Caregiver of the Month: Halina Adas

Only at times, we realize that some small things make the biggest difference. This month we are honored to award one of our exemplary caregivers Halina Adas who has been working with us since 2005. Not only longevity of her outstanding employment made us select her as a caregiver of the month but her continuous and heartfelt dedication to her clients.

Currently, Halina is working with one of our beloved clients in the town of Wethersfield. For the past two years, Halina has shown a true devotion and compassion to her client. Early morning Halina dials her client’s home phone number, “Good morning! How are you doing today?” This sentence is very common and simple but it holds much greater meaning. Halina says, “I call her every morning to make sure her night went well. She is a little forgetful and I want to make sure that she gets up and is ready to meet me when I come there around noon. I want to know if she didn’t fall at night if she feels secure. I want her to know that if she needs me, she can always reach out to me.” During winter storms, Halina volunteers to stay with her client. Halina says that she also calls her clients to remind her that her favorite “Dancing with the Stars” is about to start.

Halina has been working in homecare since 1997 and she is one exemplary caregiver who shows true compassion for helping people. We asked Halina if she had any advice for other caregivers like herself and she said that the most important thing is to always stay positive and express only good energy.
