Caregiver of The Month – Jemile Ovezova

Many of us can recall that warm and cozy feeling when meeting up with a good old college friend, a colleague you enjoyed working with for years, or your best friend from childhood. That same feeling came over one of our client’s daughter when saw Jemile Ovezova at her doorsteps. “My Jaime!” she shouted. She walked towards her and hugged her tightly, “I can’t believe it’s you!” Unsuspiciously, our care coordinator, who came with the caregiver to the interview, asked, “You two know each other?” The daughter and the caregiver happily shared how they met when Jemile was taking care of another client of ours. “She took exceptional care of a very good friend of mine who I visited frequently and this is how I came to you guys,” said the daughter.

Over the years working in our company, Jemile has demonstrated to everyone she worked with what true one-on-one care looks like. Jemile had an honorable privilege to work with a client who was unfortunately put on hospice care due to a bad fall. The client was not eating properly, could not perform the simplest tasks on her own, and was given a couple of months to live. Under Jemile’s care, the client thrived and without any exaggeration she was literally running down the hallways with her walker, greeting and socializing with other residents, going outside to enjoy the fresh air and the sun, and even doing her make-up prior to leaving the room! Who could imagine what Jemile’s highly attentive and dedicated one-on-one care could do?
