Getting to the gym and simply getting around this time of year is difficult, especially difficult given the snow storms and freezing temperatures we’ve been having. But this shouldn’t stop you and your client from staying active! Here are some of our favorite workout channels you can easily find online and YouTube. Just stream it on your phone, TV or computer and you’re ready to go. Try these and many more to get in the habit of getting in your daily exercise from the comfort of your own home.

 

Stronger Seniors

Anne Pringle Burnell is an expert when it comes to designing workouts specifically for seniors. In addition to her great YouTube videos like this chair exercise video below, take a look at her Stronger Seniors website for DVD’s and guidebooks to low-intensity, yet effective workouts!

 

The National Institute on Aging (NIA)

The National Institute on Aging is a leading association dedicated to the development and wellbeing of our aging population. Their excellent Go4Life program is a highly rated exercise campaign that offers workouts, workout guides…even free stuff!

Silver Sneakers

An amazing program designed for older Americans and seniors, Silver Sneakers is an exercise program that includes gym membership at that can be covered by many health plans. Think of it as a “Class Pass” membership for seniors.

If you and your client suffer from lower back pain, this is an amazing video that incorporates common yoga moves to help treat it. Be sure to look at their other videos when you have a chance!
