Rigorous 10-Step Screening & Evaluation of Every Caregiver


Not everyone can be a Euro-American caregiver.  It takes a special kind of person to provide hands-on care to someone who is ill, frail or disabled. 

And we have a process in place to make sure we hire only very special people. Each applicant is fully screened and evaluated, and the skills and personalities of our approved caregivers are then matched with your specific needs to select the best possible caregiver for you.

How We Screen Caregivers

We set very high standards for home caregivers. Only the most qualified applicants are invited to join our team of professional care providers. Every applicant goes through a rigorous, 10-Step Screening and Evaluation, including:

smallnumber1 Phone screening of applicants for caregiving experience, work history and proper demeanor.
smallnumber2 Applicants complete a comprehensive employment application in person, at our office.
smallnumber3 We meet with the applicant face-to-face to review the completed application, go over each section and, if necessary, clarify their responses.
smallnumber4 We require recent reference letters from our final applicants.
smallnumber5 Our Staffing Coordinator interviews the candidate and completes a detailed applicant evaluation form, including a review of:

  • Education, certifications, training
  • Skill level
  • Detailed employment history
  • Any gaps in employment history
  • Special attributes
  • Appearance and behavior
smallnumber6 Members of our Care Team meet with the applicant to determine if the applicant has sufficient compassion and energy for this type of work.
smallnumber7 Within 48 hours of an applicant interview, we verify:

  • The applicant’s employment history
  • Certifications and licenses
  • Authenticity of reference letters
  • Personal references
smallnumber8 We order a detailed criminal background check on the applicant, both locally and at prior residences.
smallnumber9 The applicant completes all required state and federal documentation, including tax forms, Form I-9 immigration form and work authorization.
smallnumber10 Only if all of our requirements are met is the caregiver approved to be a Euro-American caregiver. A caregiver Profile is then created containing their experience, skills and personal attributes. These Profiles are available to you as you search for just the right caregiver.
