What Respite Care Looks Like in Fairfield

From the Water's Edge Up to Greenfield Hill

Fairfield stretches from Long Island Sound into the hills. Fairfield Beach and Southport lie on the water, Stratfield is toward the Bridgeport line, and Greenfield Hill and Lake Mohegan are up north. Southport even has its own historic district and its own train station. It is all the Town of Fairfield and all inside the area we cover; name the part of town you mean and the street, and that is all we need.

The Daughter Who Drives Over Every Day

Fairfield borders Trumbull, Easton, Weston and Westport. A daughter in Trumbull or a son in Westport is close enough to drive over before work and again after, which also means never quite being off duty. Respite puts someone else in the house on set days, so the drive becomes a visit instead of a shift.

Time to Be a Daughter Again

Caring has a way of turning a daughter or a husband into a full-time scheduler: appointments, groceries, phone calls. Respite covers set hours, and what you do with them is yours: an hour at one of Fairfield's five town beaches, an afternoon with a book, a night's sleep. The aim is that you can go on being a daughter or a husband, not only the one who coordinates.

Our only office is at 1436 Berlin Turnpike in Berlin, forty-six miles from Fairfield by road, and there is no Fairfield branch. The caregiver comes to the house; scheduling, matching and your client manager are one phone call away in Berlin, wherever in Fairfield you live.

Getting Started Is Simple

A Clear, Guided Process from Initial Call to Caregiver Match

  1. Reach out by phone or by filling out our online form, and THREE things come back to you. A FREE foundational Plan of Care tailored to you and your loved one, along with potential caregiver(s) profile(s) near you, and a list of questions to ask home care agencies.

  2. Our goal is to create the most effective Plan of Care for your loved one. One of our Client Managers will reach out to schedule an in-home visit. This allows us to get to know you and your loved one personally, understand their needs, and assess the home for safety. We'll note any existing adaptive equipment and flag any adjustments that could better support their independence at home.

  3. Based on everything we have learned about your loved one, we will send you a couple of pre-selected caregiver profiles that we believe are a good match for your loved one's needs, preferences, hobbies, personality, etc. Once you have chosen a caregiver you feel good about, you have the option to meet them before services begin.

  4. On the first day of services, our Field Supervisor will be on-site to ensure the Plan of Care is fully understood and followed. Clients are encouraged to ask questions, and we will be there to ease the transition every step of the way. From there, our Field Supervisor will continue with monthly in-home visits to ensure quality care is maintained.

Why You Need a Plan of Care for Your Loved One?

A Plan of Care tells you exactly what level of support your loved one needs without committing to anything. We put it together because every family making this decision deserves clarity before they commit.

Tailored specifically to your loved one — their routines, their preferences, their history, their situation. Not a template. Not a generic checklist. A plan built for one person — yours.

You own the plan — always. You walk away with it regardless of what you decide next.
