Why You Need a Plan of Care for Your Loved One?

A Plan of Care tells you exactly what level of support your loved one needs without committing to anything. We put it together because every family making this decision deserves clarity before they commit.

Fill out one plan of care. Walk away with caregiver profiles, the right questions to ask homecare providers and caregivers, and a roadmap because every family deserves clarity before they commit to anything.

Getting Started Is Simple

A Clear, Guided Process from Initial Call to Caregiver Match

  1. Reach out by phone or by filling out our online form, and THREE things come back to you. A FREE foundational Plan of Care tailored to you and your loved one, along with potential caregiver(s) profile(s) near you, and a list of questions to ask home care agencies.

  2. Our goal is to create the most effective Plan of Care for your loved one. One of our Client Managers will reach out to schedule an in-home visit. This allows us to get to know you and your loved one personally, understand their needs, and assess the home for safety. We'll note any existing adaptive equipment and flag any adjustments that could better support their independence at home.

  3. Based on everything we have learned about your loved one, we will send you a couple of pre-selected caregiver profiles that we believe are a good match for your loved one's needs, preferences, hobbies, personality, etc. Once you have chosen a caregiver you feel good about, you have the option to meet them before services begin.

  4. On the first day of services, our Field Supervisor will be on-site to ensure the Plan of Care is fully understood and followed. Clients are encouraged to ask questions, and we will be there to ease the transition every step of the way. From there, our Field Supervisor will continue with monthly in-home visits to ensure quality care is maintained.

Common Questions

Questions Families Ask About Overnight Home Care

Do I need to provide a bed for the overnight caregiver?

No. Unlike live-in care, overnight caregivers do not require a bedroom because they are working an awake shift — not residing in the home. They remain alert and available near your loved one's sleeping area throughout the night.

What if my loved one wakes up frequently during the night?

Our overnight caregivers are fully prepared for nighttime wake-ups. They provide assistance with mobility, safe bathroom trips, and gentle reassurance to help your loved one settle back to sleep. Frequent nighttime waking is one of the most common reasons families seek overnight care.

Can we combine overnight care with daytime care?

Yes. Many families combine overnight shifts with our hourly daytime visits to build a full care schedule tailored to their loved one's needs. We can also transition to 24-hour awake care if needs escalate over time.

What is the difference between overnight care and live-in care?

Overnight care is a dedicated awake shift — typically 12 hours — focused solely on nighttime safety and support. The caregiver does not live in the home and no bedroom is required. Live-in care involves a caregiver who resides in the home, provides daytime support, and has assigned sleep hours at night — requiring a private bedroom.

How long is the standard overnight shift?

Our standard overnight shift is 12 hours, typically running from 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM. We can adjust the exact start and end times to fit your loved one's routine — for example, an earlier evening start for those who go to bed at 7:00 PM.

How quickly can overnight care be arranged?

After an initial consultation and in-home assessment, we typically require 24–48 hours to assign and schedule a caregiver. For urgent situations, please call us directly at (860) 829-0208 and we will do everything we can to expedite placement as quickly as possible.
