What Norwalk Families Should Know About Us

Every Corner of Norwalk, Not Just the Center

South Norwalk was a city of its own until 1913, and the old divisions still show: East Norwalk by the beaches, Rowayton on the Five Mile River, Cranbury and West Norwalk inland, Silvermine running over the line into New Canaan and Wilton. All of them, the Norwalk side of Silvermine included, are inside the area we cover — tell us which one when you call, and that is the last time it matters.

Coming Home From Norwalk Hospital

The weeks after a stay on Maple Street are when a household strains most: someone home again but not yet themselves, meals that still need making, and a family member who has spent days at the bedside and now needs to sleep. That is a common place for companionship and respite to begin — help in the house, alongside the follow-up the hospital arranges rather than instead of it.

Fifty-Five Miles Away, and in Your Living Room Every Month

An hour and more up I-95 and I-91 is a real distance, and it is fair to wonder who you would ever see besides the caregiver. The answer is a field supervisor: one of our two visits every client once a month, so whoever covers a sick day has already sat in your living room and knows how the day is meant to go.

Where We Are

Talk to a Client Manager

Our only office is at 1436 Berlin Turnpike in Berlin, about fifty-five miles away by road; we have no Norwalk address and will not pretend otherwise. The caregiver travels to the house, and the matching, the scheduling and your client manager are a phone call to Berlin — the same as for every family we look after.

Getting Started Is Simple

A Clear, Guided Process from Initial Call to Caregiver Match

  1. Reach out by phone or by filling out our online form, and THREE things come back to you. A FREE foundational Plan of Care tailored to you and your loved one, along with potential caregiver(s) profile(s) near you, and a list of questions to ask home care agencies.

  2. Our goal is to create the most effective Plan of Care for your loved one. One of our Client Managers will reach out to schedule an in-home visit. This allows us to get to know you and your loved one personally, understand their needs, and assess the home for safety. We'll note any existing adaptive equipment and flag any adjustments that could better support their independence at home.

  3. Based on everything we have learned about your loved one, we will send you a couple of pre-selected caregiver profiles that we believe are a good match for your loved one's needs, preferences, hobbies, personality, etc. Once you have chosen a caregiver you feel good about, you have the option to meet them before services begin.

  4. On the first day of services, our Field Supervisor will be on-site to ensure the Plan of Care is fully understood and followed. Clients are encouraged to ask questions, and we will be there to ease the transition every step of the way. From there, our Field Supervisor will continue with monthly in-home visits to ensure quality care is maintained.

Common Questions

Home Care in Norwalk — Common Questions

We live in Rowayton. Does that count as Norwalk?

Yes. Rowayton keeps its own ZIP code, its own station and its own taxing district, but it is part of the City of Norwalk and it is covered exactly like the rest of it. If your mail says Rowayton, you are in the right place.

My mother is due home from Norwalk Hospital soon. When should we call?

Now, while the discharge date is still being settled, rather than on the morning she leaves. A few days' notice is what lets us match a caregiver properly instead of sending whoever happens to be free; if it is more urgent than that, say so on the first call and you will get a straight answer about how soon.

How much does companionship or respite care cost in Norwalk?

It depends on the hours and on what they need to cover, so there is no price list on this page to quote from. The free Plan of Care works out the hours; the rate for those hours is something we go through with you on the phone, before anything is agreed.

You are fifty-five miles away. How does getting started actually work?

Mostly by phone, as it does for every town we cover. You call (860) 829-0208 or start the free Plan of Care online, a coordinator goes through it with you, we match a caregiver, and the first visit is set around your week. The caregiver is the part that comes to Norwalk; everything else is a phone call that gets answered.

Can a companion walk with my father by the water?

Yes, at his pace and as far as his plan of care says is safe. Walks are part of companionship care, and from much of East Norwalk and Rowayton the water is close enough to be the walk itself.

Why You Need a Plan of Care for Your Loved One?

A Plan of Care tells you exactly what level of support your loved one needs without committing to anything. We put it together because every family making this decision deserves clarity before they commit.

Tailored specifically to your loved one — their routines, their preferences, their history, their situation. Not a template. Not a generic checklist. A plan built for one person — yours.

You own the plan — always. You walk away with it regardless of what you decide next.
