Home Care in Bristol, Connecticut

Bristol is a city of about sixty-one thousand people, known for its clockmakers, for Lake Compounce, open since 1846, for ESPN, which has been here since 1979, and for the Mum Festival every September on Memorial Boulevard. It still goes by its old village names, Forestville, Edgewood, Federal Hill, and wherever in the city your family lives, our approved service area covers hourly, overnight and 24-hour home care.

What Bristol Families Should Know About Us

Forestville, Edgewood, Federal Hill, and the Rest

Bristol keeps its village names: Forestville, Edgewood, Federal Hill, Chippens Hill. People give them before they give a street, and every one is inside the city line and so inside the area we cover. Say the name you use for your part of town and then the street; the street is what the schedule is built from.

A City Built on Keeping Time, and Care Counted in Hours

Bristol became an industrial town as a world leader in clock manufacturing, and the American Clock & Watch Museum on Maple Street has kept that story since it opened in 1954. What we offer in Bristol is counted in hours as well, whether that is a visit of three hours or more, an awake caregiver through the night, or shifts that cover every hour of the day.

Fifteen Miles From the Office, Not a Branch Down the Street

From our office on the Berlin Turnpike to Bristol City Hall is 15.6 miles by road, about twenty-three minutes when the roads are clear. That is near, but it is still an office in another town, and we say so. The caregiver comes to the house, and once a month one of our two field supervisors visits every client at home.

Getting Started Is Simple

A Clear, Guided Process from Initial Call to Caregiver Match

  1. Reach out by phone or by filling out our online form, and THREE things come back to you. A FREE foundational Plan of Care tailored to you and your loved one, along with potential caregiver(s) profile(s) near you, and a list of questions to ask home care agencies.

  2. Our goal is to create the most effective Plan of Care for your loved one. One of our Client Managers will reach out to schedule an in-home visit. This allows us to get to know you and your loved one personally, understand their needs, and assess the home for safety. We'll note any existing adaptive equipment and flag any adjustments that could better support their independence at home.

  3. Based on everything we have learned about your loved one, we will send you a couple of pre-selected caregiver profiles that we believe are a good match for your loved one's needs, preferences, hobbies, personality, etc. Once you have chosen a caregiver you feel good about, you have the option to meet them before services begin.

  4. On the first day of services, our Field Supervisor will be on-site to ensure the Plan of Care is fully understood and followed. Clients are encouraged to ask questions, and we will be there to ease the transition every step of the way. From there, our Field Supervisor will continue with monthly in-home visits to ensure quality care is maintained.

Common Questions

Home Care in Bristol — Common Questions

My father lives in Forestville. Is that covered, or only Bristol?

Forestville is part of the City of Bristol, so it is covered, as are Edgewood, Federal Hill, Chippens Hill and the rest. If you are not sure whether an address falls inside the city line, give us the street when you call and we will check it.

What is the difference between overnight care and 24-hour care?

Overnight care is an awake caregiver from evening to morning. 24-hour care adds the daytime: caregivers work rotating awake shifts, so someone is alert at every hour, and going with your loved one to appointments is part of it. In neither case does a caregiver sleep in the home, so you do not need a spare room.

What is the shortest hourly visit I can book?

Hourly visits start at three hours and can be any day of the week, with no cap on how many hours or visits a day. If the need changes, the hours can be increased, reduced or moved by talking to your client manager at (860) 829-0208.

My mother is being discharged from Bristol Hospital. Where do we start?

With a phone call, ideally before the day itself. What she needs in the first weeks decides the service: a few hours a day, an awake caregiver at night, or someone at every hour. The free Plan of Care puts those hours on paper, and the plan can change as her needs do.

Why You Need a Plan of Care for Your Loved One?

A Plan of Care tells you exactly what level of support your loved one needs without committing to anything. We put it together because every family making this decision deserves clarity before they commit.

Tailored specifically to your loved one — their routines, their preferences, their history, their situation. Not a template. Not a generic checklist. A plan built for one person — yours.

You own the plan — always. You walk away with it regardless of what you decide next.
