Home Care in Danbury, Connecticut

Danbury was once the Hat City of the World, and the Still River that ran its factories still crosses the city from west to east, while the southern tip of Candlewood Lake, the largest lake in Connecticut, lies inside the city line. It is a busy, mixed city of about eighty-six thousand people, and wherever in it your family lives, our approved service area covers companionship care and respite care.

What Danbury Families Should Know About Us

A City of Sections, and All of Them Covered

Ask a Danbury family where they live and you may get a section before a street: Mill Plain, Beaverbrook, Great Plain, Germantown, Long Ridge, Lake Waubeeka. Every one of them is part of the city we serve. Give us the name you would give a neighbor, and we will find it on the map.

Nearly Half of Danbury Speaks Something Else at Home

About 45 percent of Danbury residents speak a language other than English at home. Between them our caregivers speak English, Polish, Russian, Ukrainian, Spanish and Italian, and the language spoken in the house is one of the first things we ask about, because company in a language you do not follow is not much company.

Forty-Eight Miles Away, With a Supervisor Who Has Been in the Room

Our office is on the Berlin Turnpike, forty-eight miles by road, an hour when the highways are clear. It is fair to ask who you would ever meet besides the caregiver. Once a month one of our two field supervisors visits each client at home, so if the regular caregiver is out, whoever covers has already stood in that kitchen.

Where We Are

Talk to a Client Manager

Our only office is at 1436 Berlin Turnpike in Berlin, about forty-eight miles away by road; there is no Danbury address and we will not suggest one. The caregiver comes to the house, and the matching, the scheduling and your client manager are a phone call to Berlin, as they are for every family we look after.

Getting Started Is Simple

A Clear, Guided Process from Initial Call to Caregiver Match

  1. Reach out by phone or by filling out our online form, and THREE things come back to you. A FREE foundational Plan of Care tailored to you and your loved one, along with potential caregiver(s) profile(s) near you, and a list of questions to ask home care agencies.

  2. Our goal is to create the most effective Plan of Care for your loved one. One of our Client Managers will reach out to schedule an in-home visit. This allows us to get to know you and your loved one personally, understand their needs, and assess the home for safety. We'll note any existing adaptive equipment and flag any adjustments that could better support their independence at home.

  3. Based on everything we have learned about your loved one, we will send you a couple of pre-selected caregiver profiles that we believe are a good match for your loved one's needs, preferences, hobbies, personality, etc. Once you have chosen a caregiver you feel good about, you have the option to meet them before services begin.

  4. On the first day of services, our Field Supervisor will be on-site to ensure the Plan of Care is fully understood and followed. Clients are encouraged to ask questions, and we will be there to ease the transition every step of the way. From there, our Field Supervisor will continue with monthly in-home visits to ensure quality care is maintained.

Common Questions

Home Care in Danbury — Common Questions

We say we live in Mill Plain, not Danbury. Does that matter?

No. Mill Plain, Beaverbrook, Great Plain, Germantown and the other sections are all part of the City of Danbury, and a home in any of them is covered like every other. Tell us the section if that is how you think of it; the street address is all the schedule needs.

I live out of state and my mother is in Danbury. Can I arrange care from where I am?

Yes, and the person who calls us is often not the person in the house. You, or a sibling nearer by, can call (860) 829-0208 or start the free Plan of Care online; a coordinator goes through it with whoever is arranging things, and the caregiver comes to your mother's home in Danbury.

Do you publish rates for Danbury?

No, and nothing on this page is a quote. What a week costs depends on the hours and on what has to be covered, so the Plan of Care comes first and sets out the hours; we then talk through the rate with you on the phone before you commit to anything.

Can a companion go with my mother to Elmwood Hall?

Yes. Going along to senior-center programs is part of companionship care, at her pace. Elmwood Hall is the city's own center for residents 60 and over, run by Danbury's Department of Elderly Services; we are not connected to it, so its hours, classes and the city's own van program are best asked about at 203-797-4686.

Can you send someone who speaks Spanish, Polish or Italian?

Between them our caregivers speak English, Polish, Russian, Ukrainian, Spanish and Italian. Say on the first call what is spoken in the house and we match on it as far as the caregivers available for your hours allow; if a language is not possible for the hours you need, you will hear that from us straight away rather than on the day the caregiver arrives.

Why You Need a Plan of Care for Your Loved One?

A Plan of Care tells you exactly what level of support your loved one needs without committing to anything. We put it together because every family making this decision deserves clarity before they commit.

Tailored specifically to your loved one — their routines, their preferences, their history, their situation. Not a template. Not a generic checklist. A plan built for one person — yours.

You own the plan — always. You walk away with it regardless of what you decide next.
