What Companionship Services Look Like in Danbury

A City of Sections, and All of Them Covered

Ask a Danbury family where they live and you may get a section before a street: Mill Plain, Beaverbrook, Great Plain, Germantown, Long Ridge, Lake Waubeeka. Every one of them is part of the city we serve. Give us the name you would give a neighbor, and we will find it on the map.

Elmwood Hall Is Easier With Someone Beside You

The city's senior center on Elmwood Place is open to Danbury residents 60 and over and keeps a long weekly list: tai chi, ceramics, bridge, a chorus, and a weekday lunch. For someone who would enjoy it, the first few visits alone are the hard part. Going along is part of companionship care, and a familiar face beside them is often what turns a flyer on the fridge into a day they look forward to.

Anyone Who Lived Here Before 1981 Has a Fair Story

The Danbury Fair ran every fall from 1869 until 1981, and the Danbury Fair Mall now stands on the fairground. In a city that was once the Hat City of the World, a companion who has time to hear about the Fair, the first job, the street as it was, is doing the quiet part of the work: giving someone an audience for a long life.

Our only office is at 1436 Berlin Turnpike in Berlin, about forty-eight miles away by road; there is no Danbury address and we will not suggest one. The caregiver comes to the house, and the matching, the scheduling and your client manager are a phone call to Berlin, as they are for every family we look after.

Getting Started Is Simple

A Clear, Guided Process from Initial Call to Caregiver Match

  1. Reach out by phone or by filling out our online form, and THREE things come back to you. A FREE foundational Plan of Care tailored to you and your loved one, along with potential caregiver(s) profile(s) near you, and a list of questions to ask home care agencies.

  2. Our goal is to create the most effective Plan of Care for your loved one. One of our Client Managers will reach out to schedule an in-home visit. This allows us to get to know you and your loved one personally, understand their needs, and assess the home for safety. We'll note any existing adaptive equipment and flag any adjustments that could better support their independence at home.

  3. Based on everything we have learned about your loved one, we will send you a couple of pre-selected caregiver profiles that we believe are a good match for your loved one's needs, preferences, hobbies, personality, etc. Once you have chosen a caregiver you feel good about, you have the option to meet them before services begin.

  4. On the first day of services, our Field Supervisor will be on-site to ensure the Plan of Care is fully understood and followed. Clients are encouraged to ask questions, and we will be there to ease the transition every step of the way. From there, our Field Supervisor will continue with monthly in-home visits to ensure quality care is maintained.

Why You Need a Plan of Care for Your Loved One?

A Plan of Care tells you exactly what level of support your loved one needs without committing to anything. We put it together because every family making this decision deserves clarity before they commit.

Tailored specifically to your loved one — their routines, their preferences, their history, their situation. Not a template. Not a generic checklist. A plan built for one person — yours.

You own the plan — always. You walk away with it regardless of what you decide next.
