What Overnight Home Care Looks Like in Southington

Our Free Art Class Meets at Calendar House

Calendar House, the Southington Senior Center on Pleasant Street, is one of the senior centers where we hold Creative Companionship, our free art class for older adults. Nobody needs to know how to paint, and it costs nothing. Our clients and the center's members are both welcome, and there are Polish paczki on the table. Call us to ask when the next class in Southington is.

A Shift That Starts at Her Bedtime

Our overnight shift is twelve hours, usually from 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM, and the times can be moved to fit the person. If your mother in Marion has gone to bed at seven for fifty years, the caregiver can come earlier, help her wash and change for the night, and still be there in the morning to help her dress and make her breakfast.

Help at Night That Is Hard to Ask Family For

About one in four Southington residents aged 65 and over lives with a disability, the Census Bureau reports. Some of the help people need at night is hard to accept from a son or daughter: the bathroom at two in the morning, a change of nightclothes, a wash. An awake overnight caregiver gives that help privately and calmly, and the morning starts without anyone feeling embarrassed.

Our office is at 1436 Berlin Turnpike in Berlin, 9.5 miles by road from Southington Town Hall. There is no other office, in Southington or anywhere else. Call it and you reach the people who plan your care; the caregiver is the one who comes to your home.

Getting Started Is Simple

A Clear, Guided Process from Initial Call to Caregiver Match

  1. Reach out by phone or by filling out our online form, and THREE things come back to you. A FREE foundational Plan of Care tailored to you and your loved one, along with potential caregiver(s) profile(s) near you, and a list of questions to ask home care agencies.

  2. Our goal is to create the most effective Plan of Care for your loved one. One of our Client Managers will reach out to schedule an in-home visit. This allows us to get to know you and your loved one personally, understand their needs, and assess the home for safety. We'll note any existing adaptive equipment and flag any adjustments that could better support their independence at home.

  3. Based on everything we have learned about your loved one, we will send you a couple of pre-selected caregiver profiles that we believe are a good match for your loved one's needs, preferences, hobbies, personality, etc. Once you have chosen a caregiver you feel good about, you have the option to meet them before services begin.

  4. On the first day of services, our Field Supervisor will be on-site to ensure the Plan of Care is fully understood and followed. Clients are encouraged to ask questions, and we will be there to ease the transition every step of the way. From there, our Field Supervisor will continue with monthly in-home visits to ensure quality care is maintained.

Why You Need a Plan of Care for Your Loved One?

A Plan of Care tells you exactly what level of support your loved one needs without committing to anything. We put it together because every family making this decision deserves clarity before they commit.

Tailored specifically to your loved one — their routines, their preferences, their history, their situation. Not a template. Not a generic checklist. A plan built for one person — yours.

You own the plan — always. You walk away with it regardless of what you decide next.
