What 24-Hour Home Care Looks Like in Southington

Our Free Art Class Meets at Calendar House

Calendar House, the Southington Senior Center on Pleasant Street, is one of the senior centers where we hold Creative Companionship, our free art class for older adults. Nobody needs to know how to paint, and it costs nothing. Our clients and the center's members are both welcome, and there are Polish paczki on the table. Call us to ask when the next class in Southington is.

When the Family Has Been Covering Every Hour

More than a third of Southington households include someone 65 or older, the Census Bureau reports. If your family has been dividing the clock between you, one on nights, another at weekends, a grandchild in the gaps, 24-hour care can take all of those shifts over. The caregivers work awake shifts in turn, and you can go back to being family rather than the night shift.

Thanksgiving and Festival Weekends Too

24-hour care does not pause for holidays: someone is awake and present day and night, 365 days a year. On Thanksgiving, on Christmas morning and on the two fall weekends of the Apple Harvest Festival, the shifts change over as on any other day, so the family can sit down to dinner or go out to the Green without leaving your loved one alone.

Our office is at 1436 Berlin Turnpike in Berlin, 9.5 miles by road from Southington Town Hall. There is no other office, in Southington or anywhere else. Call it and you reach the people who plan your care; the caregiver is the one who comes to your home.

Getting Started Is Simple

A Clear, Guided Process from Initial Call to Caregiver Match

  1. Reach out by phone or by filling out our online form, and THREE things come back to you. A FREE foundational Plan of Care tailored to you and your loved one, along with potential caregiver(s) profile(s) near you, and a list of questions to ask home care agencies.

  2. Our goal is to create the most effective Plan of Care for your loved one. One of our Client Managers will reach out to schedule an in-home visit. This allows us to get to know you and your loved one personally, understand their needs, and assess the home for safety. We'll note any existing adaptive equipment and flag any adjustments that could better support their independence at home.

  3. Based on everything we have learned about your loved one, we will send you a couple of pre-selected caregiver profiles that we believe are a good match for your loved one's needs, preferences, hobbies, personality, etc. Once you have chosen a caregiver you feel good about, you have the option to meet them before services begin.

  4. On the first day of services, our Field Supervisor will be on-site to ensure the Plan of Care is fully understood and followed. Clients are encouraged to ask questions, and we will be there to ease the transition every step of the way. From there, our Field Supervisor will continue with monthly in-home visits to ensure quality care is maintained.

Why You Need a Plan of Care for Your Loved One?

A Plan of Care tells you exactly what level of support your loved one needs without committing to anything. We put it together because every family making this decision deserves clarity before they commit.

Tailored specifically to your loved one — their routines, their preferences, their history, their situation. Not a template. Not a generic checklist. A plan built for one person — yours.

You own the plan — always. You walk away with it regardless of what you decide next.
