What Companionship Services Look Like in New Haven

New Haven Magazine Has Named Us Year After Year

A Best Of list from the city itself, alongside eleven consecutive years of Provider of Choice and Employer of Choice awards from Activated Insights — the ratings that come from surveying actual clients and caregivers rather than from an entry form.

Usually It Is the Way Back Out of the House

Parts of the city are walkable and parts are not, and plenty of older residents stopped going out at the point going out stopped being easy. Most of what companionship does here is make the outing possible again — the market, the library, the appointment, the service on Sunday.

Language First in Fair Haven and Wooster Square

Between them our caregivers speak English, Polish, Russian, Ukrainian, Spanish and Italian. If the talk around that kitchen table has been in Spanish for sixty years, an English-speaking companion is company in name only.

Our one office is at 1436 Berlin Turnpike in Berlin, roughly twenty-five miles up I-91, and there is no New Haven branch. The caregiver who comes to the house lives in the area; what travels from Berlin is the scheduling and the client manager you call.

Getting Started Is Simple

A Clear, Guided Process from Initial Call to Caregiver Match

  1. Reach out by phone or by filling out our online form, and THREE things come back to you. A FREE foundational Plan of Care tailored to you and your loved one, along with potential caregiver(s) profile(s) near you, and a list of questions to ask home care agencies.

  2. Our goal is to create the most effective Plan of Care for your loved one. One of our Client Managers will reach out to schedule an in-home visit. This allows us to get to know you and your loved one personally, understand their needs, and assess the home for safety. We'll note any existing adaptive equipment and flag any adjustments that could better support their independence at home.

  3. Based on everything we have learned about your loved one, we will send you a couple of pre-selected caregiver profiles that we believe are a good match for your loved one's needs, preferences, hobbies, personality, etc. Once you have chosen a caregiver you feel good about, you have the option to meet them before services begin.

  4. On the first day of services, our Field Supervisor will be on-site to ensure the Plan of Care is fully understood and followed. Clients are encouraged to ask questions, and we will be there to ease the transition every step of the way. From there, our Field Supervisor will continue with monthly in-home visits to ensure quality care is maintained.

Why You Need a Plan of Care for Your Loved One?

A Plan of Care tells you exactly what level of support your loved one needs without committing to anything. We put it together because every family making this decision deserves clarity before they commit.

Tailored specifically to your loved one — their routines, their preferences, their history, their situation. Not a template. Not a generic checklist. A plan built for one person — yours.

You own the plan — always. You walk away with it regardless of what you decide next.
