What Hourly Home Care Looks Like in Wallingford

Settled in 1670, Then a Town of Pewter and Silver

About 126 settlers arrived in 1670, and in the 1800s Wallingford had many small makers of pewter and Britannia ware. R. Wallace & Company, the forerunner of Wallace Silversmiths, came out of that time, and the International Silver Company ran several plants here. The town's own plan names the Town Center and Yalesville as its traditional village neighborhoods, and both, with every street between them, are inside the area we cover.

Appointments in Town and Over the Line in Meriden

The Hartford HealthCare center on North Main Street Extension offers primary care and walk-in care, and MidState Medical Center is on Lewis Avenue in Meriden. Appointment escort is part of hourly care: the caregiver goes with your loved one and looks after their safety along the way, so the visit does not have to wait for a day when you can leave work.

On the Days Without Memory Lane

Memory Lane, the adult day program at the Wallingford Senior Center on Washington Street, is open to Wallingford residents 60 and over who qualify after an assessment. For the days your loved one spends at home instead, hourly visits of three hours or more can cover meals, the housework, a walk and good company. We are not connected to the center, so ask them about a place.

The office is at 1436 Berlin Turnpike in Berlin, 12.5 miles north of Wallingford Town Hall by road, and it is our only one. Scheduling, caregiver matching and your client manager are there. What comes to the house is the caregiver and, once a month, one of our two field supervisors.

Getting Started Is Simple

A Clear, Guided Process from Initial Call to Caregiver Match

  1. Reach out by phone or by filling out our online form, and THREE things come back to you. A FREE foundational Plan of Care tailored to you and your loved one, along with potential caregiver(s) profile(s) near you, and a list of questions to ask home care agencies.

  2. Our goal is to create the most effective Plan of Care for your loved one. One of our Client Managers will reach out to schedule an in-home visit. This allows us to get to know you and your loved one personally, understand their needs, and assess the home for safety. We'll note any existing adaptive equipment and flag any adjustments that could better support their independence at home.

  3. Based on everything we have learned about your loved one, we will send you a couple of pre-selected caregiver profiles that we believe are a good match for your loved one's needs, preferences, hobbies, personality, etc. Once you have chosen a caregiver you feel good about, you have the option to meet them before services begin.

  4. On the first day of services, our Field Supervisor will be on-site to ensure the Plan of Care is fully understood and followed. Clients are encouraged to ask questions, and we will be there to ease the transition every step of the way. From there, our Field Supervisor will continue with monthly in-home visits to ensure quality care is maintained.

Why You Need a Plan of Care for Your Loved One?

A Plan of Care tells you exactly what level of support your loved one needs without committing to anything. We put it together because every family making this decision deserves clarity before they commit.

Tailored specifically to your loved one — their routines, their preferences, their history, their situation. Not a template. Not a generic checklist. A plan built for one person — yours.

You own the plan — always. You walk away with it regardless of what you decide next.
