✓Cos Cob, Riverside, Old Greenwich, and the Rest
Greenwich is a town of villages more than a town with one center. Cos Cob, Riverside and Old Greenwich each have a post office and ZIP code of their own, and Byram, Glenville, Pemberwick, Mianus and Banksville are names families use as readily as the town's. Every one is inside the town line, and so inside the area we cover. Give us the street and the name you use for it, and the rest is ours to work out.
✓Respite Is Not Only for Emergencies
Respite is usually pictured as the call at the end of a bad week. It works better when it is planned: a standing afternoon, or a few days set around a wedding, a graduation or the date of your own procedure. Fix the hours ahead and the relief arrives as part of the week, not as a rescue.
✓Out of Sight of the Next House
North of the villages the town turns wooded, toward Banksville and the New York line, and many houses sit well back from the road. For someone caring for a husband or a mother there, whole days can pass with nobody at the door. Respite is time off, and it is also a person arriving on set days, someone to talk to who is not the one being cared for.
Our only office is at 1436 Berlin Turnpike in Berlin, sixty-nine miles from Greenwich by road. We have no Greenwich address and will not pretend to. Matching, scheduling and your client manager are handled by phone from Berlin, and the caregiver comes to the house.
